Prismatic Shield: This item appears as a finely constructed +1 small wooden shield with an interweaving spiral pattern engraved on its face or on a metallic center boss. Using the shield in a shield bash attack will activate its special function once per day. The opponent struck and those within range are treated as if they were struck by the Color Spray spell as if cast by a fifth level sorcerer. Some less powerful versions of the Prismatic Shield have small jewels arrayed around the perimeter that disappear each time the Color Spray ability is used. This lesser type of Prismatic shield typically has 6d6 jewels (charges). The jewels cannot be removed without being destroyed. The shield remains +1 even if all charges are used.
